Who would have known that the little settlement started by St Mungo in 543AD would one day be acclaimed throughout the world as the second city of the British Empire. Glasgow, famed for its historic contribution to ship building and heavy engineering, is in a state of change and diversification. The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, performing in the Royal Concert Hall reinforces Glasgow's claim to be at the forefront of cultural development.
